Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way we understand and manage many aspects of our lives, and the judicial system is no exception. The objective is to analyze artificial intelligence in the criminal judiciary: Assessment of benefits and challenges. a documentary review was conducted, 16 relevant references were selected, published between 2020 and 2024. Its implementation is not without challenges that invite us to reflect on how to ensure that this technology really serves people. The lack of regulation, biases in algorithms and technological inequalities, especially in regions such as Latin America, remind us that justice cannot depend solely on machines.
