Protectores bucales deportivos en la odontología [Sports mouthguards in dentistry]

Objetivo: analizar los protectores bucales deportivos en su implementación en la odontología. Método: revisión sistemática en población de 15 articulos científicos. Resultados y Conclusión: Los protectores bucales representan una herramienta esencial en la prevención de lesiones orofaciales en deportes de contacto, ofreciendo beneficios significativos tanto en términos de protección como de funcionalidad. Sin embargo, su adopción generalizada enfrenta múltiples desafíos, como la falta de conciencia, la percepción de incomodidad y la resistencia de los atletas.
