Abstract

Objective: to analyse sleep disorders and academic performance in nursing students. Method: Systematic review of 15 scientific articles. Results and conclusion: there is a consistent and significant relationship between sleep disorders and academic performance in nursing students. The high prevalence of sleep disorders identified, ranging from 33% to 76%, constitutes a significant health problem in this population, with a particular incidence of insomnia and excessive daytime sleepiness. The negative impact of these disorders is manifested in multiple dimensions of academic performance, from average grades to aspects such as attendance, class participation and homework completion.
