Objective: to analyse the influence of malnutrition on cognitive development in infant students. Method: Systematic review of 15 scientific articles. Results and Conclusion: The evidence reviewed highlights that malnutrition affects essential neurobiological processes, such as myelination and synaptogenesis, as well as being associated with alterations in the intestinal microbiota, muscle health and the immune system, which aggravates its impact on brain development.
