Objective: to analyse the epidemiological, social and ecological factors of dengue in Ecuador. Method: Systematic review of 15 scientific articles. Results: Dengue in Ecuador represents a significant challenge for public health, determined by the interaction of epidemiological, social and ecological factors. The simultaneous circulation of multiple serotypes of the virus, favourable climatic conditions for the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti vector and social inequalities, such as poverty and limited access to basic services, are key determinants in its persistence and expansion.
