Objective: to analyse genetic counselling. Method: Systematic review. Results and conclusion: Genetic counselling in contemporary medical practice is an alternative, as it provides comprehensive guidance on conditions of genetic origin, allowing patients and their families to understand the genetic contribution of diseases, adapt to the associated risks and make informed decisions about diagnosis, management and treatment.
