Discrimination against persons belonging to the LGBTI community [Discriminación hacia las personas que pertenecen a la comunidad LGBTI]

Due to the above, the objective of this study is to analyse discrimination towards people belonging to the LGBTI community. The present study was developed under a descriptive documentary methodology, the data collection was based on 14 secondary sources, such as academic articles and case studies, available in specialised databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed and SciELO. The comparative analysis of discrimination against the LGBTI community reveals that, despite legislative advances and efforts to implement inclusive public policies, serious deficiencies persist in the effective protection of the rights of LGBTI people. The studies reviewed show that structural, social and institutional discrimination continues to be a critical barrier to access to justice and the full exercise of human rights in various jurisdictions.
