Legal security and its impact on Ecuadorian emigration [Seguridad jurídica y su repercusión en la emigración de ecuatorianos]

The aim is to analyse legal security and its impact on the emigration of Ecuadorians. The documentary population was composed of 13 scientific papers, published between 2017 and 2024, which address key issues on migration, social security, public policies, and human mobility in Ecuador. The studies agree that lack of access to basic rights, such as housing, social security and labour protection, drives emigration, while current policies do not adequately address the needs of migrants, especially in terms of gender and human rights. To mitigate these effects, it is essential to implement legal reforms that strengthen legal safeguards and provide comprehensive protection for migrants, both nationally and internationally.
