Efectos de la hipertensión de la bata blanca en adultos mayores. Revisión sistemática [Effects of white coat hypertension in older adults. Systematic review]

Objetivo: analizar los efectos de la hipertensión de la bata blanca en adultos mayores. Método: Revisión sistemática en 16 articulos. Resultados y conclusión: La HBB afecta aproximadamente al 30-40% de los adultos mayores con lecturas elevadas de presión arterial en consulta. Se asocia con mayor rigidez arterial, riesgo cardiovascular incrementado y eventos cerebrovasculares en comparación con normotensos. La monitorización ambulatoria de presión arterial (MAPA) resulta fundamental para su diagnóstico. Los factores psicológicos, como la ansiedad ante el entorno sanitario, juegan un papel determinante en su desarrollo.
