Abstract

Objective: Describe the management of furcation perforation using Biodentine in endodontic treatment. Method: Clinical case. Results: A 35-year-old female patient with an indication for endodontic treatment in tooth #26 for prosthetic reasons, presenting with atresic root canals. During instrumentation under absolute isolation, furcation perforation was identified. Irrigation was performed with 1% sodium hypochlorite, physiological saline and 2% chlorhexidine. Calcium hydroxide with propylene glycol was placed as intracanal medication for seven days. Subsequently, conometry was performed, identifying three canals, and filling was performed using the single cone technique and AH Plus cement. Sealing the perforation with Biodentine yielded satisfactory results. The procedure was completed with temporary filling and referral for definitive prosthetic rehabilitation. Conclusion: Biodentine is an effective alternative for repairing furcation perforations due to its bioactive properties, excellent sealing, and ease of handling, favouring long-term prognosis.
