Abstract

Objective: Compare the effectiveness of clinical case-based learning with lectures in teaching paediatric diseases through a systematic review of the literature. Method: A systematic search was conducted in biomedical databases of research published between 2020 and 2025 that compared educational methodologies in paediatrics. Variables such as student satisfaction, knowledge acquisition, clinical skills development, and diagnostic reasoning were analysed. Results: Analysis of 16 studies revealed that CBL significantly improves student satisfaction, clinical reasoning, and knowledge retention compared to traditional methodologies. Students reported greater active participation and better application of theoretical concepts in real clinical situations. Conclusion: Clinical case-based learning demonstrates superiority over lectures in teaching paediatric diseases, promoting more meaningful and clinically oriented learning.
