Objective: to analyse the clinical implications of fibrinogen and fibrin. Method: Systematic review. Results and conclusion: Fibrinogen and fibrin are fundamental elements in human physiology, with a direct impact on critical processes such as haemostasis, thrombosis, wound healing and the inflammatory response. Their alteration, whether due to intrinsic or exogenous factors, is closely linked to the development of various pathologies, from cardiovascular diseases to complications associated with COVID-19.
