Abstract

Objective: to describe haemoperfusion in the treatment of poisoning. Method: Systematic review. Results and conclusion: Haemoperfusion has become established as a highly effective therapeutic strategy in the management of severe poisoning, particularly in scenarios where conventional methods of extracorporeal clearance are insufficient. Its capacity to adsorb specific toxins, such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides and lipophilic compounds, makes it a crucial intervention in the field of intensive care.
