Objective: Objective: to analyse the role of nurses in the early diagnosis and management of rare diseases. Method: systematic review of 15 scientific articles. Results and conclusion: nurses play an important role in care coordination, acting as a link between different levels and social and health resources, where the case management model proves to be an effective strategy. It should be emphasised that psychosocial support led by nurses contributes significantly to the adaptation and quality of life of patients and families, particularly in vulnerable situations such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
