Objective: to present a clinical case study on women diagnosed with uterine leiomyoma. Method: Clinical case study. Results and conclusion: The clinical case study presented outlines the diagnostic and therapeutic approach to a 44-year-old patient with classic symptoms of abnormal uterine bleeding and secondary anaemia. In the case analysed, a total abdominal hysterectomy was the most appropriate option given the severe symptoms and intraoperative findings. However, it is essential to remember that there are less invasive alternatives for selected patients, such as uterine artery embolisation or medical treatments.
