to analyse palliative care for the elderly from a nursing perspective. Method: Systematic review of 15 articles. Results and conclusion: Nursing staff play a fundamental role in the early identification of palliative needs, comprehensive assessment, symptom management and psychosocial support for patients and families. The results suggest that the integration of palliative care should begin early in the course of chronic diseases and geriatric syndromes, not being limited to terminal phases. Frailty emerges as a key concept that can guide the implementation of this care, serving as an indicator of palliative needs.
