Objective: to analyse the respiratory complications of COVID-19 virus infection in full-term pregnancy. Method: systematic review of 15 scientific articles. Results and Conclusion: SARS-CoV-2 infection in pregnant women at term constitutes a relevant clinical challenge due to respiratory complications that can seriously compromise maternal and foetal health. Factors such as immunomodulation and changes in respiratory mechanics typical of pregnancy predispose this population to developing hypoxemia, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and, in critical cases, the need for invasive mechanical ventilation. These complications are associated with adverse outcomes, including intrauterine growth restriction, premature birth and perinatal mortality.
