Objective: to analyze the consequences of upper lateral incisor agenesis on occlusion from a systematic review. Method: systematic review in population of 15 scientific articles. Results and Conclusion: The main consequence of agenesis of the upper lateral incisors is a significant alteration in occlusion, manifested in the displacement of the canines towards the space of the missing teeth, which can generate ectopic eruptions, discrepancies in the relationship between the dental arches and a decrease in occlusal stability. This condition is frequently associated with other dental anomalies, such as peg-shaped incisors or hypodontia in other areas, which aggravates its functional and esthetic impact.
