Objective: to analyse current treatments for trigeminal neuralgia. Method: systematic review of 17 scientific articles. Results and Conclusion: trigeminal neuralgia is a neuropathic disorder characterised by episodes of sudden, intense pain in the areas innervated by the trigeminal nerve, which significantly impacts the quality of life of patients. Its clinical management requires a multidisciplinary approach that includes pharmacological treatments, such as anticonvulsants, surgical interventions such as microvascular decompression, and advanced therapies such as neuromodulation or the use of botulinum toxin.
