Objective: to analyse the applications of pupillometry in anaesthesia and neurology. Method: Systematic review. Results and conclusion: Quantitative pupillometry offers benefits in medical practice, such as the objective and non-invasive evaluation of pupillary function, the optimisation of anaesthetic drug administration, precise pain management and advanced monitoring of neurocritical patients. Likewise, its application in the investigation of cognitive and autonomic processes extends its usefulness, improving diagnostic and therapeutic precision and contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge and the personalisation of clinical care.
